Certified Equine Veterinary Technician

Job Description: Oakhurst Equine Veterinary Services, a progressive and well-established multi-doctor practice in Newberg, Oregon, is seeking a full time Certified Equine Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team. We’re looking for someone passionate about equine health, confident in handling horses of all temperaments, and committed to providing exceptional care alongside a team of veterinarians and support staff.

Pay Range: $28-$35 an hour

What You'll Do:

  • Safely handle and restrain horses for examinations and procedures

  • Jog and lunge horses for lameness evaluations

  • Assist with diagnostic procedures such as digital radiography, endoscopy, ultrasound, and gastroscopy

  • Maintain and sterilize instruments and equipment

  • Document medical records accurately and assist with billing and invoicing

  • Support ambulatory and in-clinic appointments and minor surgeries

  • Help maintain clean treatment areas and restock supplies, including ambulatory vehicles

Qualifications:

  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT)

  • Equine veterinary experience preferred

  • A current, valid driver’s license with a clean driving history is required for this position

  • Excellent communication and time-management skills

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and some nights and on-call support

  • Must live within 30–40 minutes of Newberg, OR or be willing to relocate
